THE EFFECTS OF TEACHERS’ ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE ON STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT AND INTEREST IN ACCOUNTING IN KADUNA STATE
Abstract
This study examines the effects of teachers’ academic qualification and experience onstudents’ achievement and interest in Accounting. The sample was made up of two hundred and twenty (201) NCE II, Business Education Department, Federal College of Education, Zaria and ten (10) Accounting lecturers in the Department. One hundred and forty (140)students of NCE IIin Business Education Department and seven (7) Accounting lecturers were chosen fromBusiness Education Department, using randomsampling technique. Two research hypotheses guided this study, theresearch hypotheses were tested using regression analysis and ANOVA. The findings fromthe study revealed that all lecturers’ academic qualification and experience when takentogether made significant effects on students’ achievement in Accounting. Based on thefindings of this study, the recommendations are also given by the researchers.
